We do this by offering a range of evidence-based therapeutic services specifically for Seniors.

  • We provide friendly, personalised Physio services to older people in the safety and comfort of their own home, retirement village, assisted living unit, residential care (nursing home) or any other place of their choosing e.g. a local park, beach, gym - anywhere!

  • Exercise doesn’t have to be boring or complicated to work. Our programs use simple, fun, evidence-based exercises to help older adults stay strong, steady and independent. Programs are designed with the person’s goals and interests in mind, and are suitable for all levels of ability from beginner to advanced.

  • Falls are very common for older people and can have devastating consequences, which is why we are so deeply passionate about preventing them! We develop individualised, holistic falls prevention plans centred around evidence-based exercise and education to help minimise older peoples’ risk of having a fall.

  • We have extensive experience delivering tailored rehabilitation programs that help older people recover from and/or manage a very broad range of common clinical presentations.

  • We understand the huge impact chronic pain can have on older people. It stops them doing the things they love, can lead to isolation and reduces overall quality of life. Friendly Physio can help relieve and manage conditions like arthritis using a range of effective therapeutic techniques such as exercise, massage and manual therapy.

  • We can help Seniors to keep doing the things they love by supporting optimal movement in tight or stiff joints and muscles. And for those who spend most of their time in bed or a wheelchair, we can work to help manage or prevent muscles and joints from becoming permanently fixed (contracture).

  • Have a specific task-related goal in mind? Maybe it’s getting out of a chair more easily, or getting in/out of a car, walking safely around the house, walking outdoors, climbing stairs, hanging out the washing, getting the mail, all of the above or something else? We can help!

    Our Functional Task Training involves repeated, supervised performance of practical, real-world skills and activities to improve your independence and confidence doing, well… anything!

  • Most things are more fun (and more affordable) when you do them with good company, and exercise is no different! We can offer sessions for small groups of 2-6 with discounted rates for each participant, and can also run larger exercise classes for groups of 10-20+ people living in retirement villages or residential care settings.
